How to request account deletion
Direct App Deletion
Open SeaIM on your mobile or desktop device and navigate to Profile > Account Settings > Delete Account. This is the fastest, most secure method.
Web-Based Request
In case you no longer have access to the app, sign in to our H5 client at m.sea.im/login and follow the same account settings path.
Review & Confirmation
After accepting the request, our systems will end all active sessions across your devices and begin the final data purge process.
What SeaIM deletes
- Profile Metadata: Nickname, avatar, and core account identifiers.
- Login Credentials: Secure password hashes and associated email/phone verification links.
- Session Access: All active authentication tokens and device-specific session caches.
- Group Ties: Your presence in group chats and private interaction records on your account side.
Exceptions & Retention
In accordance with security best practices and legal requirements, we may retain specific records for limited periods.
- Prevention: Information required for fraud prevention and abuse investigations.
- Compliance: Records tied to regional legal retention and regulatory reporting mandates.
- Interaction context: Messages and shared files already delivered to other users stay in their histories unless separately removed.
Loss of Account Access
If you cannot access your account via app or web, send a manual deletion request to [email protected]. Please include your registered identifier (email or phone) for verification purposes.
